I'm calling it early...

One thing I love about being o/s for work is how cheap the books are here. I get the driver to drop me off at the shopping centre near where I stay (just outside of Kate Spade thank you very much) every night and engage in some serious retail therapy before having dinner and heading back to the apartment. One of the down sides is having to eat alone in restaurants. So I started reading one of the books I bought over dinner tonight. I'm only 52 pages in and I'm loving it. Had never heard of it but apparently was a number one international bestseller - where have I been?! As the blurb explains: "It's 1988 and Dexter Mayhew and Emma Morely have only just met. But after only one day together, they cannot stop thinking about one another. Over twenty years, snapshots of that relationship are revealed on the same day - July 15th - of each year....." And sure enough - the movie has already been shot in the UK, Anne Hadthaway plays Emma and is due out in Amercia's autumn this year. Unfortunately my internet connection in the apartment here is so slow its making it impossible to spend copious amounts of time in bloggy land as I had hoped. Lucky I have a good book to read....
UPDATE - finished. loved it. hated it because i loved it. so good. glad i have to wait for the movie because it has a lot to live up to.. so nice to find an awesome read so unexpectantly.

I LOVE this book. It is one of my favorite books ever. I was reading it when a friend was visiting and sometimes I was so rude, always reading my book while she was here! I had a hard time putting it down. Just love it. I'm looking forward to checking out some of his other books.

Oh Kimbo, it's fabulous. Anne Hathaway annoys me though - I'm not sure she's the right Emma. Maybe a Kate Winslet? And who's your tip for Dexter? Jude Law would've been purrrrrrfect.

I've just started reading it based on your recommendation (on my new kindle!) - loving it so far!

I absolutely LOVED this book... cried my eyes out reading it! But I'm with Kate - I would never have thought of Anne Hathaway to play Emma, still intrigued about seeing the film though!
Loverly blog by the way :)

I finished it too and feel exactly the same way as you Kim! I was so glad to be so unexpectantly satisfied with a book - it's been a while! I laughed, I cried, I just hope the movie is as good.
