Did you know???

Anthropologie now ships to Australia. I kid you not. This is not some sick and twisted early April fools joke.

IT. IS. TRUE. You can even shop in Australian currency.

Hmmm, me thinks I need me this Laelia Quilt to celebrate.

Thank you Anthropologie. Now its time for J.Crew and Kate Spade to take your lead!

Tres Excited.

As a single woman, I'm not ashamed of my over the top obsession and love for all that is "wedding style guide". Why? Because their styling is exquisite, they set the standard and I don't know of another magazine, bridal or otherwise that is styled as beautifully as this one. And what makes it even better? It is created right here in little Radelaide (translated "Adelaide")

And yes, I know I have gone on about it before, but really - you can't blame me. Translate their wedding ideas for any party, download their free stationary, or buy a current or back issue digitally.

Their latest issue? - check out page 112, a stunning runner from my shop! (NB currently out of stock but more on the way)

Page 99? the lighting? Snap! I'm getting the same pendants for my kitchen. Love.

Page 132 - stunning Thurley bridesmaid dresses. And their shoes?....yum.

Page 24 - Collette Dinnigan Bridal. Wow.

Thanks lovely ladies at Style Guide xx

So Far. So Good.

31 today. Thirty one. This time last year I was a pathetic mess about turning 30, but gosh it has been a good year. Happy Birthday to me I say - ok, so things are exactly how I thought they would be at this stage in my life but hello - there are no complaints. I am blessed with incredible friends and family and I am happy. I couldn't, and shouldn't ask for more. Merci x

A Perfect Sunday

How could you not have a perfect Sunday, sitting around this table with friends and family - eating, drinking, talking, laughing, reading and sharing. Perfection.

Finally, I've Found!

I've been lucky enough to get to know Stacey through a good friend of mine over the recent months. A mother of two she is always looking super chic in her latest gilles st markets find, giving the coolest wedding presents (saw the awesome print she had framed for M & D when I was there the other week!) and now..... there is the blog!

Stacey has an awesome eye, and she now plans to share her awesome quirky, vintage, retro, handmade, 'perfect gift for the person who has it all', earth friendly finds. Better still, are you looking for something in particular, something hard to find? - she is happy to go searching for you.

We are heading to the Bowerbird Bazaar this weekend - can't wait to catch up. Please drop by and say hi to Stace at Find... found...forage x

Baby Got Mac

I am guest blogging after a glass of red wine (or two, or three). I am calling it that rather than giving my actions their proper label of computer mutiny.
The reason for my overthrowing the captaincy of the good ship Brown Button..
I really just wanted to play on KB's new...
Woo hoo, Walk the Plank - this is fun.
ahhh - I finally get to play on it myself! (spent all night putting all my kitchen stuff in my new kitchen - squeal! - and little miss Pip has been playing. funny girl)

A handle is a handle, is it not?

The kitchen has begun - it was chaos here this morning. Yay! Kitchen dude assured me I didn't have to make a decision on handles/knobs until this week. But I get a text today at work "I've left a book at your place for you to choose your handles. It would be great if I could order them tomorrow" - um, what the?! I've been pouring over handles for months, and now you have given me a book of about 300 handles and you want me to choose ONE, by tomorrow!?!?!

So I think I'm going to end up with something like the above - Not my ideal handle, but will suit the kitchen. Except for that really long handle on the big cupboard on the left. Bit OTT. So, Oui?

BTW, subway tile per above photo = my splash back.

Oh, and now that the kitchen is barely underway, I'm planning the renovation of the bathroom... no rest for the wicked (note to self - buy the winning ticket in the lottery this week)

Goodbye. Well, Hello!

Finally. Old kitchen out. New kitchen in. Seriously. For real. Actually happening. No more talk. Just down to business. So I'm writing this post sitting in my lounge room surrounded by Tupperware, pots and pans, crystal glasses, tea bags and flour.

I'm so lucky to have an awesome house mate and fabulous friends to help - because I've kind of hoped the 'kitchen fairies' were just going to come in and get me all prepared.

Besides getting a dishwasher, the most exciting part of the kitchen is my new Mac. Yep. One of these beauties. Have absolutely NO IDEA how to use it, but gosh it is gorgeous. Bear with me. Please.

Catch you on the flip side. xx

Bye Bye Summer...

It is now officially Autumn, and while I bid Summer a sad good bye, gosh I love promise of winter. The clothes, the red wine, sitting by the fire, green hills, soup painstakingly made from scratch simmering on the stove all day, the sound of rain on the roof.... looking forward to it all. x

Oh to be 5 again....

Yum! A Brown Button Trading customer (and friend of a friend- oh I love how small the world is xxx) purchased a candy jar and the gorgeous white butterfly dish for her daughter's fifth birthday ice cream parlour styled celebration. Linda was lovely enough to send me some photos... check out the cake, crazy wow.

Want to replicate? see Anna Von Marburg's "Happy Birthday" book - just quietly, I think little Amelie's cake is even better than that in the book....

So, I'm taking a poll - and all those who think that a certain brown button who is turning 31 in a couple of weeks can't have a ice cream birthday cake.... your vote isn't going to be counted!

Thanks to Linda and Amelie for sharing their party pics (and the best bit? the writing on the plate in the first photo originally was "Amelie is 5!" - the birthday girl insisted on the "!" be photshopped out as she thought it looked like it said "Amelie is 51" - too cute.

SA Great.... and Winners are Grinners...

Susan - thank you for your help!!! for introducing me to dick & dora and bus roll tea towels - and if I can get them on the shelves of Brown Button Trading.... even better! Susan, you have a BBT $50 voucher waiting for you, email me with your details darling!

Meanwhile, get over to Tamara's shop and get yourself the South Australian's - if one of these two don't float your boat, move states!! Too good to dry the dishes, I suggest you get it framed and have it displayed pride of place in your kitchen.

Happy weekend bellas, better still - for the SA bellas, happy LONG weekend... what are you up to?

Oh... and just quietly.... loved my time in Sydney. Even though it was exhausting and 24/7 work. Drinks, drinks by the pool, dinner and drinks at the Ivy while I was there? Heaven.

Sweets for my sweets

Have a 'sweet' rest of the week my favourite peeps! I'm off to Sydney for work. Yet another opportunity for me to exercise my 'i'm going to become a morning person even if it kills me' project - flight out tomorrow is at 7am...

Speaking of 'sweets' and 'treats'.... Ruby's latest is - "Timberlee, if you are good you can have a tweet!" (translated that means "Kimberlee, if you are good you can have a treat!") - she is too cute. And a little too clever.... She likes to recieve her 'tweet' prior to the good deed. Classic!

Speaking of classic, there is an ad on TV at the moment that has me smirking everytime. Pip posted it here. he he he.

Oh and back on the 'sweets' - the t.ruffle girls have still seriously got it going on. I love getting my daily does of sweets. And I'm finally getting mine framed. You can buy yours here.

I'll stop 'speaking' now- ciao! x
