Bye Bye Summer...

It is now officially Autumn, and while I bid Summer a sad good bye, gosh I love promise of winter. The clothes, the red wine, sitting by the fire, green hills, soup painstakingly made from scratch simmering on the stove all day, the sound of rain on the roof.... looking forward to it all. x

And, on our side of the equator we are so very weary of winter. This has been a snowy, grey, and long one. We are seeing the first signs of Spring here in the Chicago area--snow melt (finally), several sunny days in a row, and rising temperatures.

There are tulips and daffodils available in the grocery stores, and if one looks very closely there might be a crocus or two peeking up through the muddy brown grasses.

Enjoy your soups and blazing fires while I am dreaming of spring salads and the warm and lazy days of summer to come.

Ooh I second that motion. I'm orginally from Adeladie and must say I do miss the beautiful yet cold winters there.

From two different places...I'm saying 'hello spring' and can't wait for summer. It's been a long, snowy winter.

But I haven't got a thing to wear!! Summer dressing is just too easy. But I am looking forward to snuggling up to the fire at night time...

That's what I thought, when fall rolled around in Germany so many months ago. By now I have been wearing heavy coats and woolen sweaters for over 6 months and I am officially SO SICK OF IT!
But you are new to it, so enjoy :-)

I always forget your seasons are opposite, my sister is in Sydney so she's enjoying the last of the hot summer days as well.
