Happy EOFYS!

How catchy is that pesky foxtel ad?! - I've been singing "happy EOFYS"! all day - mainly because it is the end of the financial year! (i can feel your excitement from here....) - Well, for accountants this is kind of a big deal and celebrated suitably with an end of financial year shin dig, which the firm where I work at insist is held on the ACTUAL night 30 June falls on, no matter what the day of the week! So I've donned my party shoes, and I'm out the door.

Oh and I'm a little excited too - will be announced tonight by the partners that I was promoted today - so that's MANAGER Brown Button to you all now! he he he. See you 'next year' xx

Contemplating the Kitchen....

My thoughts on the new kitchen are constantly changing. Weighing up cost, function, how much longer do I plan to be in my little place and then will it become a rental or will I sell, do I create a mini version of the dream kitchen or do I put in the bare basics. However - one thing that has remained throughout the whole thought process. The black and white flooring. A long lasting love affair I don't plan to give up anytime soon.

Weekend Wondering

Contemplating unchartered waters....... super scary, but it is about time.

But enough of that - it's Friday. Wooooo Hooooooo!

Hang on a minute, let me check my diary. What's that? Nothing on Saturday and Sunday?! BRING. IT. ON.
Enjoy it beautifuls, see you Monday xx

PS Are you lucky enough to have visited New York? Lil Pip is off to the Big Apple on Monday (so I did Melbourne for my 30th and thought I was pretty good, she's off to NYC!?!) - got any "must see and do" tips for her? Please let her know over the weekend via here.

Cute Kitchens

I'm hoping to redo my kitchen (finally!) very soon. Wellllll, if anyone wants to finance the operation I would be more than happy with Aerin Lauder's kitchen - and I'm not picky - I'll take either the Manhatten or East Hamptons one...... Images courtesy of Elle Decor, see more of her two abodes here. Me thinks I'll need this issue - Anna has posted some images of Scott Currie's home which are also featured in the July/August issue. ta to point.click.home for delivering these beauties to my inbox!

The sweetest of dreams.

In my opinion, this room is a dream. The white. The colour. Such a clean yet luxurious look. Tres sophisticated. Via Marie Claire Maison.

My Cupcake Courier!

Last week I ordered a cupcake courier - today it arrived, yippee! I've been known to make the odd cupcake in my time but I always found it difficult to store and transport them - not any more! These nifty little numbers carry 36 cupcakes on three separate trays. Best bit, they are currently on sale for $39.95. I bought the clear one but they also come in blue, pink and yellow. Get yours here.

gimme a W-E-E-K-E-N-D

I'm always 'working for the weekend'. And I've decided I've worked extra hard for this one. So I'm taking a four day weekend. Going to the Clare Valley for two days, 'mooching' around the house for the other two. Although, If I had a bedroom like this one I think I'd probably spend the four days in bed, so pretty!

Love lots and thank you for taking time to visit my blog. "Brown Button" is one year and two days old (yes, I missed my 'first bloggy birthday'...) it has been so much fun and has been a source of so much joy. It has been the best medicine and just the outlet I needed.
So the fact you come by and visit every now and then is still so overwhelming, thank you. xxx

Wicked White House

The clear standout in the latest Australian Vogue Living would have to be the feature on Lyn Gardener's country retreat. Swoon. Lyn is well known for her fabulous eclectic style and ability to turn 'trash to treasure'. Emma has featured her place before over at White and Wonder (she has an exam next week but fingers and toes crossed she is back posting soon after (no pressure Emmy)....).

You can share in some of Lyn's style at her fabulous store, Empire Vintage.
"The White House" in Daylesford Victoria is described by Lyn as "Part industrial, a bit New York, a bit black and white - it's a look I love". Well, snap Lyn - I love it too!

You can even stay at the White House, maybe one day!

See the latest July/Aug 2009 issue of Vogue Living for all the beautiful details and make sure you visit the website - LOVE the styling of the website and it is where I found all the images seen above.

Summer Sun

I've always been a winter girl. A winter wardrobe has always excited me more (right Bronte?) - and I think growing up in the country led to me favouring the cooler months. The countryside is always more beautiful in the winter, lush and green - and it is certainly a more sociable time as the town gathers to play netball and football. However, after coming across these images by Chris Craymer, the colour and light have got me yearning for days over 20oC!
And the elephant? - so hermes hey! loving the pink toe nails.....

My Chicken Little Experience

The sky fell in this morning. Ok, ok - maybe I'm exaggerating. Honestly? - it was just the bathroom ceiling. Seriously. Having noticed a bit of water damage to the bathroom ceiling last week, the plumbers were called in. Time was taken off of work. The ever so obliging upstairs occupants on the phone were missing in action when the plumbers arrived to inspect the problem. So we rescheduled for this Friday and it didn't seem like it was getting any worse.Showering this morning I felt a little, shall I say, claustrophobic...... and then I realised why. The ceiling had collapsed in the corner over the shower. So the builder was called in. In his attempt to resurrect my ceiling the whole corner collapsed. So now I have a massive hole cut in the ceiling. Not. Happy. Jan. - the joys of living in an apartment block. That is all.

Model Home

Loving the glimpse into the home life of model Stella Tennant in these images by Francois Halard. Priceless art on the kitchen wall, all the lovely potted 'green stuff' by the fire place (they're the good type of indoor plants peoples) and her too cute daughter. Delish.

Pretty Pretties

This is as girlie as I get, so enjoy it while you can! How pretty are these images by Joanna Henderson? My favourites? the cushions in the first image, especially the union jack pillow on the seat with the pom pom trim. I can't get enough of the pom pom fringe. Oh, and the garden roses in all the images steal my heart every time x
