My thoughts on the new kitchen are constantly changing. Weighing up cost, function, how much longer do I plan to be in my little place and then will it become a rental or will I sell, do I create a mini version of the dream kitchen or do I put in the bare basics. However - one thing that has remained throughout the whole thought process. The black and white flooring. A long lasting love affair I don't plan to give up anytime soon.image from decorology flickr stream

maybe you should do your flooring right now - you deserve to enjoy your kitchen while you live there!!

Nor should you! It's classic and beautiful.
I love it, that floor does look really great - and love that high ceiling too. Lovely :)
I have the same thoughts with my kitchen! I have a million ideas but don't know if it's worth executing them... and the one thing I know I want are white cabinets :D
I love the curtain :)
and the books at one side

I love that this doesn't even look like a huge house, just a little flat somewhere - which gives me hope that I too can create something as inspiring in my little, tiny abode! Oh what I'd do for an eat-in kitchen - nothing worse than keeping busy in the kitchen while your guests are relaxing in another room.
Go for it, Kim xo
love black and white floors. if this photo is of your kitchen I say don't do a thing to it! otherwise, small upgrades can never hurt...
Yes! I love black and white checked floors
That floor does look great and makes so much of a difference to the feel of the whole kitchen :)
oh, i hear ya! I am doing the same thing right now. I can't make up my mind.
You have to do the black and white floor! Everytime I see one I think of you!!
can't wait to see what you do:)
Black & white flooring...definately a staple! Go it!
Agreed, stick to the black n white!!
And one you should not give up! This kitchen features it especially well!
Kitchens are tough because they're so expensive. We are in a similar boat. I love my '50s style kitchen but eventually it will need an update. The black and white floor here is adorable!
You must do black and white flooring in your redo-- it is so "Kimberlee" (honestly, I really can't look at a black and white checkerboard floor anymore without thinking of you!)
that floor..is to die for!!!
