"I hear they are making a comeback".....

Remember the episode? (Season 6, Episode 6 to be exact) - Berger arrives at Carrie's door with a big bunch of carnations after Charlotte had stated earlier in the episode that she would probably have to dump a guy that gave her carnations. I must say, I probably belong on Charlotte's side of the fence when it came to carnations (especially when you consider that the guy who gave Carrie them in SATC dumped her via post it note the next morning?!?!) BUT, on mass, like in the pictures above, Carnations are heaven, pure heaven. See what you can achieve when you 'work together'?...... Now, can someone please have a wedding/party by a pool so we can assemble massive colourful carnation balls to float on the pool - yay!

Oh I'm so ahead of the game. I used masses of pink carnations at my daughters christening five years ago.
They look fabulous on mass and are well priced.
PERFECT!

I love them! I remember my Mum giving me pink carnations when I had tonsillitis in England as a kid, and they sat on my windowsil filling the room with that delicious powdery smell and definitley sped up my recovery!

Plus, anything in a pompom ball looks gorgeous!

i like that episode - berger makes them cute and quirky - - - until he dumps her over a POST IT!!! but i love how they're bunched together in the pool etc.. very cool!!
I would be weirded out if a guy bought me carnations sincerely thinking they were gorgeous, but would love it if he bought them quirkily and in fun.

I really think poor old Carnations have had a bum rap ever since some idiot decided to add some Gypsophila & tacky green stuff with them & sell them in buckets outside Servo's. I challenge all the Servo's reading this blog to substitute their current shoddy arrangements with your beautiful balls & restore the tarnished image of Carnations!

Huge bunches of carnies look terrific & they smell lovely too, regardless of whether they're 'in' or 'out'. Great post!

I have to admit, the carnations in the pool look pretty fabulous! Not sure how great they would look after my boys did a few bomb dives though! Tracey xx

Oh those balls in the pool are amazing. I agree that in the past I normally didn't consider carnations to be a flower that I wished to receive, but when planning my wedding and looking at numerous flower arrangements I loved the look of them all bunch together. They look amazing!

I love the white vases and bright ones. Seriously? I can't believe I used the word love for carnation.

Proof of the power of repetition .. .
it clearly takes carnations out of the trite category! Jjj

Oh aren't these beautiful images Kim. I must say I now see 'carnies' in a different light. Millie is right about the servos... they ruined them! A-M xx

i don't have carnation hate. i've always liked them. their curly edged flowers are beautiful.

now what i do hate is when they're in an 80s arrangement and teamed with baby's breath.

They look so much better in clustered form. Those pool balls are fabulous.

Nice work Kimmy, I love the cinnamon smell of carnations. I buy them for myself all the time (mainly because they are only £2 per bunch and last for about 2 weeks!). xxx

These carnation balls are magnificent. I might just change my view of carnations. One positive of carnations is that they last forever. Thanks for the eye candy!
