Coming of Age.

Tonight I leave for Melbourne for four days. Why? Originally it was to escape reality. Sunday I turn thirty. T-H-I-R-T-Y. The big 3-O. 10,950 days (not including leap years) since I was born. Honestly? I was seriously not dealing with this well. Not the number so much, but what it represented. When I thought of 'where I would be' when I was 30 many years ago, this wasn't it. But do you know what? It isn't that bad. And nothing could reiterate that more than spending the next four days with some of the best friends ever. A fabulous etsy print I have says "Be Happy for this moment, this moment is your life". Don't let a minute pass you by without remembering how lucky you are. I have my health (except the occasional head noise....) , my family and friends, I have a roof over my head and a secure job. Only recently I have been reminded how grateful I should be to have reached 30 at all, it should be celebrated not commiserated. So with those positive thoughts packed in my bag with my best dress for Saturday night and my outfit for the themed bbq at Abbey's place on the following day (think 1999 havelock/royal attire Adelaide girls eeks!) I plan to reflect on what has been and what is to come, whatever that may be, in the best light possible this weekend. And if the 30's are the new 20's then bring it on because I am ready. Happy weekend to you all xxx

I appreciate your willingness to be vulnerable with your heart. Oh, 30 was the best for me! What I will tell you is that now I am 43. I don't know when it happened....eeeeek. I will tell you that I stopped thinking in fear as the years came and realize that 31 will be here soon and you will be wishing for 30 and then 40 and now 43 I certainly don't feel older than 29, and hopefully we learn to shine bigger within. It made me appreciate each moment more and just savor sunsets, smiles and great company! I just hope your 30 was even better than mine which was awesome! So, look in the mirror and shine a big smile back in your company and feel glee for 30 means you are arriving into such a great place. It is great I promise! Happy Birthday!

Looking forward to celebrating the day you turn Dirty Thirty my dear!
Now, what to wear on Sunday...
Might have to dust of the old moleskins, RMs, man shirt, pearls, ribbons and pink lipstick... or okanuies and esprit thongs. No, I've got it! Polo shirt, shorts and yachties.
Happy Birthday Bella. XoX

Miss Kim, oh Happy, Happy, Birthday pet! The best thing about your thirties?... you stop thinking about where you thought you'd be at a certain age and you really just start to live in the moment.... oh and the other thing... becoming so comfortable in your own skin. I often think, if only I felt this way I do now, in my twenties, life would have been so much easier! Youth is wasted on the youth, they say. Have a wonderful day with all your precious friends! A-M xx

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Just remember you are wiser, more experienced and probably more beautiful than you were in your 20s. All of my friends are!

Thirty Schmirty! You're only old when you choose to be old - I'm planning on staying young right up until the hip replacement - care to join me??

Love you lots girly... and as for the party theme... could this mean you're wearing a leopard print skirt that could double as a belt matched with a tight white supre boob tube??!! ha! just as long as it's not 'double denim'!

have a vodka sunrise on me.
