Book club is Thursday. Behold above, the book of the month.... The book I still have significant amounts to read. So I'm making like Kath, even though I am Kim, and speed reading til Thursday. Alternatively, if anyone has read and would like to summarise it in point form in a comment below - we'll be BFF!!

I just found out about your book club.. I was looking for fun bookclubs..I think I missed this one but maybe next time!
I read this book late last year - and absolutely adored it. Apparently it is marketed as a children's book in countries outside of Australia, which I find really curious considering the nature of the subject.
I don't think I could dot point the story for you (besides, then you'd miss out of seeing how wonderful it is!). But I will say that I really liked death as the narrator who is not the sinister character we would expect, but a rather, lonely, sad and tender narrator.
Anyways, hope you do get a chance to read it before you go to your bookclub - it's worth it.
Oh i agree Catherine, I am absolutely loving reading it - just somehow I always seem to run out of time, it is like being late in with a school project! I want to finish it but I also want to go to book club, but I fear if I go and haven't finished reading it, I'll find out what happens and don't want to know yet. Oh, why on earth do I do this to myself every time!!!
And thanks "Lurking Linda" for the email.... might have to secretly write the cheat notes on my arm and refer to it while trying to be witty and insightful about the book on Thursday! xx
I stayed up all night to finish it, it's such an amazing book, definitely the best I read in the whole of 2008, and in my all time top 5, I cried so bad (ok i'm a cry baby but it is sad!)towards the end so don't want to ruin the ending for you.
go on, you can finish it before Thursday, it's one of those books that doesn't come along very often so I think it's well worth the headache of staying up all night! ;)
xx
I agree with everyone above - it's one of the best books I've read in ages!
I cried in about 10 different places throughout the book but just loved it so much... don't spoil it by cheating, it's so worth it to read it yourself!
Oh my.. i'm so glad other people are reading this good good book. I'd love it so much that I reread it right away. Now I need to read it again.
Have a good day!
One of the best books I have read! Don't be tempted to cheat - it will be worth your while. x
enjoy it!!
i would just LOVE to join a book club, but i work in the evenings during most meeting times....
I just started! its so good. I love the way the book is constructed with little descriptions and notes on characters.
Miss Brown Button - hope you are travelling well and have a fabulous 30th! Welcome to the club
