Close to Home

Before I started even reading the text accompanying this Home article in Home Beautiful a couple of years ago I knew it was located in Adelaide.
This stunning Victorian residence has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a stunning garden.
When originally purchased by Corinne Dzivinski the walls were peach and navy blue and the curtains were trimmed with lace. The parquetry floors were hidden with linoleum and grey pile carpet -why would you do that?? - The majority of the furniture in the lounge room is from Church Studios. One of my favourite things? - the Sid Dickens' memory blocks displayed on the feature wall.
The kitchen that started my love for a black and white checkerboard floor. This could quite possibly be my favourite kitchen ever.
The flooring in the kitchen is carried through into the dining room.
Beautiful muted tones in the bedroom.
Yes, I love my little home - but I think I'd be quite comfortable here as well!

That is a perfect example of how classic the black and white checkerboard floor can look. The kitchen is amazing!

This whole house is stunning! I love the colouring throughout and I agree that kitchen is fabulous. Also love the bifold doors that are black on the outside and white inside - gorgeous! Tracey x

I remember this place - so so good - we used to drool over that kitchen with the chandelier! Still good - still love lots xx

And P.S. I love a spiral topiary ... they remind me of Alice in Wonderland or some quirky set xx

Well that's it Miss K!! We must definitely be related as I had scanned this article last week for a future post!

It reminded me so much of our much loved old villa @ Unley. I think this house is down Henley Beach way & I agree with you that Corinne's style & use of colour is fantastic. So glad you posted this, has made my day!

This post has convinced me that we are on the same decorating wave length. I have never seen this magazine article before but I have so many that are almost identical. Thanks, HEidi

Love so many elements in this kitchen. I might have to do a blog post about it!
