They came from the North....
My mother is a Queenslander through and through - despite now having lived more of her life in SA than QLD she still says "port" instead of "suitcase", "togs" instead of "bathers", "graaf" instead of "graph" and "cAstle" instead of "castle" (ok, so you need to hear the accent, but work with me, please) - Mum is one of five and her youngest brother, his wife and the kidlets touched down in SA last night. I think they will feel like they have landed at the North Pole - it is bitterly cold here and probably at least 15oC colder than where they came from! Mum is in her absolute element, she has been preparing for months. She has a blood pressure and migraine issue, we are planning to keep a closer eye on her this weekend as she gets WAYYYY to excited about them being down. Ok, now what was the post about, why do i have photos of the Adelaide Central Markets on this post? Ahhhhh, that's right. My sister and I (we work together, ain't she lucky!?) will be walking down to the markets for lunch with the "crew" today. Showing off the best Adelaide has to offer. I don't think we realise some of the incredible things we have here as we spend so much time on what we don't have compared to Sydney and Melbourne, and ok - the rest of the capital cities. Adelaide has some of the best markets - lets face it "we give good markets" - I think we'll be dragging them to the farmers markets as well (might see you there Millie? - I'll fight you for a cupcake....) on Sunday. I'm looking forward to a fabulous 'family' weekend and I promise to bore you with stories of my little cousins (three and 18 months respectively) next week - prepare yourself! x
All photos are of the fabulous Central Markets via flickr.

Don't start letting people know how good adelaide is - best thing we ever did was let people think it's boring, leaves more for us!!
I miss it so much!!
I am so jealous about these markets Kimberlee. The food here in London is crap!!! But not only that - it's expensive crap! On the topic of Adelaide, I went there once only for the Arts Festival and had an awesome time - saw Richard the Third in Russian and had a fling with a beautiful blonde SA bloke (well before marriage and babies obviously). The water is also beautiful and warm in Summer - loverly :)
Thank you for letting me peek into a wonderful world I only dream of. I am one of the people that have found out how wonderful SA is and I will do my best to keep it a secret because I feel the same way as Jules. Thanks, Heidi
I live in Palm Springs California - a small town - and we have nothing like this here-- so jealous...
I love going to the farmers market every Sunday to buy all my veg...yours look fantastic!! Nothing better than a good market! Hope you have had a great weekend. Amanda x
Ahh the most wonderful Central Market! Every Friday night visit results in another 2kgs. on the thighs!! Great post Miss K - looks like your Mum has missed her calling as Queen of the Adelaide Tour Guides.
